The closing ceremony of the training course on Qanat for Iraqi experts took place on 10th July 2008

with the presence of Iranian deputy minister of Energy for water and wastewater affairs, Governor of Yazd, UNESCO's representative, the representative of Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and the representatives of the countries China, Japan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Oman. The Iraqi experts have attended this 2 weeks training course to promote their knowledge on technical methods for maintaining and rehabilitating Qanats. This training course which was recommended by UNESCO Iraq Office was held at ICQHS venue.
